Tiny Steps Learning Center is expanding and seeking a passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. We provide a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment where children can thrive. Summary We are looking for a teacher who provides a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Skills Required Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher to join our team and make a lasting impact on our students' development. Job Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities. Support a warm, engaging, and structured classroom environment. Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff. Assist in daily routines such as snack time, nap time, and diapering/toileting as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom. Communicate effectively with parents regarding child progress and classroom activities. Follow state licensing regulations and center policies. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred. Prior experience working with children in a childcare or preschool setting preferred. Must meet all NJ state childcare licensing requirements, including background checks. CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Nice To Haves Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Benefits Competitive salary.
