Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficiency in assessing and implementing assistive technology solutions tailored for students with visual needs.
• Demonstrated skill in Braille transcription, adaptation, and instruction, following current standards.
• Experience collaborating with educators, support staff, and families to promote student independence and access.
• Strong understanding of individualized education program (IEP) processes and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with adaptive devices, software, and other accessibility tools.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.

Role Responsibilities:

• Partner with educational teams to evaluate and recommend appropriate assistive technology for students.
• Transcribe educational materials into Braille and deliver direct Braille instruction to students.
• Provide training and support for educators and families on the effective use of assistive technology devices and software.
• Monitor student progress, maintain compliant documentation, and adjust instructional approaches as needed.
• Ensure all accessibility adaptations align with legal standards and best practices.
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing insight into assistive technology needs and Braille instruction.
