Estimator - Commercial General Contractor

Position: Mid to Senior Level Estimator 
(Ground-Up Commercial Construction)
Salary : $90 - $130k DOE with lucrative annual bonus and other benefits
Location : Lakeland, FL

We are a growing commercial general contractor specializing in ground-up construction. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to support our preconstruction efforts by delivering accurate, competitive estimates that help position projects for success from start to finish.

This role is ideal for an estimator who enjoys analyzing plans, understanding scope, and collaborating closely with project teams to win and deliver high-quality commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Review plans, specifications, and project documents to determine scope of work
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for ground-up commercial construction projects
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and general conditions costs
- Solicit, review, and scope subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Prepare and submit complete bid proposals in accordance with deadlines
- Work closely with project managers and operations teams to refine budgets
- Revise estimates based on design development or scope changes
- Maintain historical cost data to support future estimating efforts
- Monitor market trends, pricing conditions, and construction methods

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience estimating commercial construction projects
- Strong background in ground-up construction
- Solid understanding of construction means and methods
- Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and math skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
