About the Role

The HR Assistant plays a key role in supporting daily HR operations within a fast?paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate employee data, supporting onboarding and training activities, and serving as a resource for employee inquiries. A major focus of this role is the management, auditing, and compliance oversight of Time & Attendance using ADP systems.

This role ensures that timekeeping practices align with company policies, labor regulations, and operational needs. The HR Assistant partners closely with supervisors, payroll, and HR leadership to ensure accurate reporting, timely corrections, and consistent communication across the organization.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Maintain accurate and up?to?date employee records, including personal information, attendance, and performance documentation.
  • Coordinate employee training programs and track participation to support workforce development.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with team members across different departments to ensure cohesive operations.
  • Promote a positive work environment by supporting culture?building efforts, team engagement, and open communication.
  • Assist with onboarding.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned by the HR Manager or Director.
  • Oversee and manage employee time and attendance records using ADP.
  • Generate and analyze attendance, absence, and overtime reports to identify trends and support workforce planning.
  • Review, audit, and verify timesheets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company attendance policies.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in timekeeping records.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees and supervisors on timekeeping processes and ADP Time & Attendance usage.
  • Ensure adherence to company attendance policies and applicable labor regulations.
  • Assist with document filing and provide ongoing administrative support across various HR functions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an administrative or HR support role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Basic knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and U.S. employment regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using HR information systems (HRIS).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and payroll software.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing industry standards and workforce dynamics.
  • SHRM?CP, PHR, or similar HR certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with employees at all levels.

The HR Assistant relies on strong organizational and communication skills to manage employee records and facilitate clear communication between staff and management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms, and ADP Time & Attendance supports efficient handling of onboarding, recordkeeping, and payroll?related tasks. Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices ensures compliance and contributes to a fair and safe workplace. Problem?solving skills are essential for addressing employee inquiries and resolving administrative issues, while interpersonal skills help foster positive employee relations within the manufacturing environment.
