Where do you fit in?

We are seeking an experienced In-House Attorney to support the company’s legal needs with a primary emphasis on business and commercial law. This role partners closely with executive leadership and internal business teams to provide practical, risk-aware legal guidance that supports growth, compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is business-minded, collaborative, and well-versed in North Carolina law.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and counsel on a wide range of business and corporate matters under North Carolina and applicable federal law
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, customer agreements, NDAs, licensing agreements, and service contracts
• Advise on corporate governance matters, entity formation, board and shareholder issues, and internal policies
• Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions, including due diligence and closing activities
• Ensure compliance with North Carolina regulatory requirements and applicable industry regulations
• Partner with HR on employment-related legal matters, including policies, contracts, and employee relations issues
• Manage relationships with outside counsel and oversee legal spend
• Identify and mitigate legal risks while providing practical, business-oriented solutions
• Stay current on changes in North Carolina business and corporate law that may impact the company

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license and good standing with the North Carolina State Bar
• 5+ years of legal experience, with a strong focus on business, corporate, or commercial law
• Prior in-house experience or significant experience advising businesses preferred
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
• Solid understanding of North Carolina corporate, contract, and commercial law
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable business advice
• Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting fast-growing or mid-sized companies
• Familiarity with compliance, risk management, and regulatory matters in North Carolina
• Exposure to employment law, real estate, or intellectual property issues is a plus

Salary Range - $115,000.00 - $165,000.00 Per year
