We are looking for a driven and capable Project Manager (Automation, BMS, and Energy Controls) to support the delivery of hyperscale data center projects. This role is unique: you will act as the owner's representative overseeing automation, building management systems (BMS), and energy controls scopes for mission-critical facilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management rigor with a deep understanding of data center automation, controls, and energy systems to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in strict alignment with owner standards and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Project Governance: Manage automation, BMS, and energy controls scopes for hyperscale data center projects from design development through construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring alignment with owner requirements, schedules, and budgets.
  • Owner's Representation: Act as the owner's representative for all automation and controls-related activities, serving as the primary liaison between the owner, designers, system integrators, general contractors, and commissioning teams.
  • Design Coordination: Oversee the integration of automation, BMS, electrical, mechanical, and IT systems to ensure seamless operation of mission-critical data center environments.
  • Schedule & Cost Control: Develop, track, and report on schedules, budgets, and forecasts related to automation and energy controls scopes within large-scale data center programs.
  • Technical Oversight: Review control strategies, sequence of operations, system architectures, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with owner standards and hyperscale data center performance requirements.
  • Procurement Support: Support the technical review of submittals and procurement plans for long-lead automation, controls, and energy management equipment.
  • Risk Management: Identify automation- and energy-related risks impacting data center uptime, redundancy, and scalability, and lead mitigation strategies with project stakeholders.
  • Submittals & RFI Management: Manage and expedite submittals, RFI's, and field changes related to automation, BMS, and energy controls to prevent schedule impacts and construction delays.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and present detailed project status reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations to owner leadership and program management teams.
  • Commissioning & Handover Support: Support commissioning and turnover activities to ensure automation and energy systems meet mission-critical and operational readiness requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all automation and controls deliverables comply with applicable codes, owner standards, and Decima's quality management practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional experience managing automation , BMS , or controls scopes on mission-critical or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting hyperscale data center projects or similar mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, semiconductor fabs, critical infrastructure).
  • Proven ability to act as an owner's representative in a client-facing, consulting environment.
  • Strong experience with project scheduling, cost control, and risk management for complex technical systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior client and executive stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project or construction management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Direct experience with hyperscale data center clients or operators.
  • Familiarity with leading BMS and automation platforms used in data centers (e.g., Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Johnson Controls).
  • Experience supporting commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST) for mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with Design-Build or fast-track delivery models.
  • LEED AP or other sustainability-related certifications.
