Job Description

We are seeking a Safety Trainer with heavy civil construction experience who is passionate about teaching, developing people, and building a culture of safety excellence.

This is not a clipboard-only compliance role nor is it an enforcement-first role.

We are looking for a trainer first — someone who can step into a room, onto a jobsite, or into a digital platform and transfer knowledge in a way that connects, sticks, and drives real behavior change.

If you believe safety is built through education, consistency, and approachability — we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver engaging safety training to field crews, operators, and leaders
  • Develop both digital and in-person training content
  • Identify compliance gaps and proactively build training solutions
  • Translate OSHA standards into real-world heavy civil application
  • Support new hire orientation and ongoing refresher training
  • Partner with Operations and Safety to standardize safety education

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience OR degree/certification and 3+ years of experience.
  • OSHA-500 – OSHA Outreach Trainer
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction standards
  • Proven ability to teach and influence field teams
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to travel within Virginia and the Carolinas

Who You Are

  • Approachable and respected by crews
  • Comfortable in both classroom and jobsite settings
  • Able to turn regulations into practical field guidance
  • Passionate about developing others
  • Organized and proactive
  • Collaborative and solution-driven

Faulconer Team Attributes:

  • Positive, team oriented attitude
  • Open to personal and professional training and development

Why This Role Matters

We are elevating our Training & Development program to support career growth and operational excellence, with safety education at its core.

This role will help strengthen and modernize our safety training approach — enhancing consistency, expanding digital and in-person learning, and reinforcing the strong safety culture already embedded across our organization.

This position reports to our Corporate Director of People Operations and is part of our broader Training & Development strategy.
