Job Summary

As an Accounting Intern within the Finance & Accounting department at Uphold, you will play a hands-on role in supporting our daily financial operations, focusing on document management, expense validation, and accounting entries. You will gain practical experience by managing our Monthly Finances, ensuring corporate compliance across platforms like Expensify and Navan, and directly assisting with month-end close procedures in Netsuite. By maintaining accurate financial records and supporting our reconciliation processes, you will help ensure the financial integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency of Uphold's fast-paced global business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As an Accounting Intern you will support our finance team with day-to-day operations, as such:

• Manage vendor invoices and financial documents


• Track and reconcile expenses and corporate travel


• Post journal entries and bills in NetSuite


• Support month-end close and bank reconciliations


• Prepare financial reports for management


• Document accounting procedures and build SOPs

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Ongoing Academic studies or Degree, preferred in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (students from the 2nd year onwards or recent graduates).


• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.


• Proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets).


• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.


• High attention to detail.


• Solid communication skills, both orally and written.


• Fluent written and oral English skills.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Xero, SAP).


• Fluency in cryptocurrencies or other digital assets as they are core to our business.


• Community talks, certifications, and/or blog posts on your interests and research.


• Previous participation in academic clubs, case study competitions, or extracurricular projects related to Finance and Accounting.


• Basic knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) or financial process automation.
