We offer multiple shifts to accommodate your lifestyle, including day shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), evening shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), and night shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Responsibilities Assembles baskets of instruments, basin sets and equipment using appropriate check lists and prepares for sterilization. Assembles sets of supplies and instruments used in a variety of clinical settings; checks for cleanliness and functionality (e.g., sharpness of scissors, smooth movement of hinged instruments). Decontaminates, disinfects and thoroughly cleans supplies, instruments and equipment used in a variety of procedures. Distributes instruments, equipment and supplies to appropriate locations. Monitors and maintains adequate levels of supplies, instruments and equipment. Monitors equipment for malfunctions, makes minor repairs, and notifies appropriate staff of the need for major repairs. Demonstrates proficiency in reprocessing and maintenance of endoscopes and other endoscopic equipment per high‑level disinfection policy and manufacturer instructions. Maintains scope washers, washer adapters and disinfectant levels. Interacts with equipment according to manufacturer guidelines, demonstrating thorough knowledge of instrument and equipment IFUs. Wears PPE as per policy and accurately records data in appropriate logs. Qualifications No education required as long as other position qualifications are met. No licensure or certification required. No experience required; however, if the position is located at UNC Medical Center or Rex Hospital, nine months' experience as a sterile tech is required, unless graduation from a sterile processing school.
