Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

Position Overview:

UME Preparatory Academy is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support the delivery of speech and language services to students across multiple campuses. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will provide direct therapy, assist with screenings, and help document progress toward student communication goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide speech-language services as prescribed by the supervising SLP.
• Work with individual students or small groups to address speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
• Prepare therapy materials and maintain student records.
• Assist with data collection and progress monitoring for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP regarding student progress and concerns.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all FERPA, IDEA, and district policies.
• Support a positive learning environment that encourages communication growth and student participation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
• Current Texas licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA).
• Experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel between campuses if assigned to multiple locations.

Working Conditions:

• School-based setting; may serve multiple campuses within the district.
• May require lifting and assisting students with physical needs.
• Regular interaction with students, staff, and families.
